About

Parusha Naidoo is a self-taught South African artist and storyteller whose work is about joyful survival and unity.

She takes inspiration from her lineage as the descendent of indentured Indian slaves who arrived in South Africa in the 1860s, and the grandchild and child of anti-apartheid activists. Parusha uses her art as a way to express her desire for a peaceful world, where uncommon stories and hidden truths are told.

She is a lover of the natural world and her colour palette is derived from forests, ocean, sunrise and sunset. She uses her work as a vehicle for resistance, to promote critical thinking, and to encourage appreciation of the natural world, healing, history and heritage.
